I have studied Spanish since the 7th grade. This made choosing where to study abroad a breeze, knowing that I had to put my years of Spanish knowledge to use and pick a Spanish speaking country. The summer before my senior year of high school, my friends and I studied abroad in Cádiz, Spain for three weeks. This taste of studying abroad and living with a host family was indescribable. During my summer program I was lucky enough to go on a day trip to Seville. I fell in love with the city and knew I had to return some day. When I saw Seville as an option for my semester abroad at Elon University, I knew it would be an experience of a lifetime.

     This portfolio will give you a taste of my experience and how it helped me grow and progress on my intercultural journey. For this portfolio, in addition to my reflections, I will be focusing on the differences between the Spanish and US education systems. This was a topic that I investigated throughout the course of my semester.
